CIRCA 1785, UNDERGLAZE BLUE CROWNED DOUBLE F MARKS, IMPRESSED 3K TO CUP AND IA TO SAUCER
Painted with a bust-length portrait of a gentleman in profile to the left, within a gilt oval cartouche issuing scrolls garlanded with green camaïeu roses, with a scroll handle, domed cover and flower finial, the saucer gilt with the initial M. within a similar cartouche, gilt line rims (small restored rim chip to cup, cover with small shallow chip to underside of rim probably dating from manufacture, minute chipping to finial, slight wear to gilt M and rims)
