CIRCA 1801, BLUE SHIELD MARKS, IMPRESSED 801 AND 47 TO CUP, IMPRESSED 39 TO SAUCER, GILDER'S 96. MARKS
The cup with a gilt angular handle, the front painted with a sportsman filling his gun with powder by two hounds and a farm in a rural landscape, within a rectangular gilt cartouche with raised palmettes and canted corners, against a horizontal band of gilt rosettes and acanthus supending beading below a raised gilt foliate band and claret-line border, the saucer with a central gilt flowerhead medallion within similar borders (two small areas of wear to ground of saucer, very small shallow footrim chip to cup)
