FIRST EDITION. A FINE COPY SIGNED BY DOISNEAU WITH A FLOURISH, AND INSCRIBED BY CENDRARS: "à Mme Lou Noirel. Hommage de Blaise Cendrars". Doisneau's "best book" (The Photobook). Doisneau, who grew up in the Paris suburbs saw his pictures "'as self-portraits, the reflection of this absurd scenery [he] detested' yet viewed with genuine understanding and unsentimental warmth" (101 Books).
