NOBUYOSHI ARAKI
Zerokkusu Shashincho 15 -- Expo. Tokyo: Nobuyoshi Araki, 1970.

Small folio (259 x 185 mm). 23 black and white photocopies. Original black paper wrappers, stitched with red thread.

RARE. 1 OF 70 COPIES ONLY, THE ENTIRE EDITION, HANDMADE BY ARAKI using the office photocopier at the advertising agency that employed him, and fired him as a result. One of a series of 25 similar projects, "anything but modest in terms of ambition", in which Araki took his dictum that "Photogaphy is copying" to its natural conclusion (The Photobook). Araki distributed these to friends and colleagues, and individuals selected randomly from the telephone directory. The Open Book, pp.254-57; The Photobook, vol. I, p.294 ("FRAGILE AND NOW EXTREMELY VALUABLE").
