The eared rectangular moulded cornice above a pair of panelled cupboard doors each with a raised shaped panel inlaid with strapwork, flanked and divided by rectangular pilaster headed by acanthus capitals, enclosing a plain interior and a pierced foliage lockplate, on a panelled base and bun feet, with a paper label inscribed Schloss Eisgrub. Obj.-Nr. I./81 Inv.-Nr. 1086 and with brass plaque stamped F864

This cupboard shows typical features of Hallenschränke made by Braunschweiger cabinet-makers, the strong moulded cornice, the panelled doors with their raised shaped panels and strapwork inlay, the tapering pilasters with acanthus capitals and the rectangular plinth can be found on comparable design drawings illustrated in H. Kreisel, Die Kunst des Deutschen Möbels, Vol. II, München 1970, fig. 96-98.
