Lot Essay

The present work was painted in the garden of Goudie's parents-in-law home in a small fishing village called Loctudy. His wife, on the far right, and her mother have just been served afternoon tea by Marie Louise, the cook and servant. She is wearing a lace coiffe typical of the Bigouden region of Sud Finistère. The village across the water is Ille-Tudy.

The present work is sold with an original letter from the artist.
