The rectangular top surmounted by a three-tier superstructure with a three-quarter pierced gallery above fretwork side panels and mirrored backplates, above two mahogany-lined frieze drawers, above two panelled doors centred by a diamond-shaped panel enclosing palmettes, the reverse of the doors with radiating panels centred by a foliate patera, enclosing a maroon velvet-lined compartment with one shelf, on paw feet, one plate is later, the padouk door panels reused from a colonial piece of furniture
