The serpentine-fronted moulded Swedish green marble top, above three bombe drawers and a shaped apron, the sides centred by lozenges, on foliate-cast sabots

Christopher Tietze (b. 1727, maître in 1764).
Closely related commodes by Tietze are illustrated in T. Sylvén, Mästarnas Möbler, Stockholm, 1996, pp.354-355 and 357, and a further commode by the cabinet-maker was sold anonymously, Rasmussen, Copenhagen, 28-31 October 1997, lot 306.
