Shaped circular, with rocaille and foliage border, further engraved with foliage and a coat-of-arms below a Duke's coronet, standing on four, foliage and scroll rocaille feet, marked underneath

The arms are those of Galloway quartering Abernethy, Brehin and Stewart with Douglas in pretence as granted to Archibald, 1st Baron Douglas (1748-1827) grandson of James, 2nd Marquess of Douglas (1646-1700). The arms are almost certainly for the Hon. Charles Douglas (1775-1848), later 3rd Baron Douglas, second son of Archibald, 1st Baron Douglas and brother of Archibald, 2nd Baron Douglas (1773-1844). Douglas was a barrister at Lincoln Inn and served as Tory M.P. for Lanark from 1830-1832. He died unmarried in 1848.
