The tapering melon-fluted body with vine leaf scroll handles and supported on square base with shell and foliage feet, the detachable cover with a gourd finial, engraved with three coats-of-arms fully marked

The first arms are those of Bergough impaling Carpenter for George Bergough (d.1856) of The Ridge, Wooton-Under-Edge, and his wife Anne, daughter of Captain John Cooke Carpenter R.N.
The second arms are those of Pinney quartering Pretor impaling another, probably for Charles Pretor-Pinney (1793-1867) and his wife Frances Mary (d.1860), daughter of Charles Still of East Knoyle, Wiltshire, whom he married in 1831. Charles Pinney was Mayor of Bristol from 1831-1832.
