Each depicted running with a berried crown of ivy, and with ivy draped over his body, the young boy clutching a dog and a partridge, the young faun clutching an owl, on a circular base with a tree stump

Lot Essay
These bronze figures are based on the terracotta examples entitled Satyre enfant courant avec un hibou modeled circa 1780 by Jean-Michel Claude, dit Clodion, and now in the Cleveland Museum of Art, Ohio.
