AN AXUMITE TERRACOTTA HEAD OF A BULL
CIRCA 3RD CENTURY A.D.
With lentoid-shaped bulbous eyes and short horns, the forelock indicated with incised chevrons, circa 3rd Century A.D., 2¾ in. (7 cm.) high; a Parthian terracotta horse and rider, the bearded figure emerging from the body of the horse, wearing folded cap, the horse with applied disc eyes, traces of red painted decoration, 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) high; another Parthian rider figure, the head flanked by two smaller heads, within an arched cover, 3¾ in. (9.5 cm.) high, both 1st-3rd Century A.D.; a Western Asiatic black polished ware juglet with stippled decoration, circa 3rd millennium B.C., 2¾ in. (7 cm.) high; and a group of Near Eastern bronze and terracotta animals, 1st millennium B.C. and later(a lot)
