Sensitively and dramatically carved with the profile heads of two Asiatic chieftains, their heads bowed in obeisance on the ground, traces of white and pink colour, mounted

French private collection, acquired on the Paris art market in the late 1980s.

Lot Essay

The conforming size of this talatat block indicates that it probably came from the Aten temple which Akhenaten built to the east of the Great Temple of Amun at Karnak.
