A GROUP OF THREE TILES, SYRIA, 15TH AND 16TH CENTURY
The first a hexagonal Mamluk underglaze painted tile with spikey leaf plant on a white ground, turquoise border, circa 1425; the second a square tile with underglaze painted in cobalt blue and black with lozenge and floral design; and the third a Damascus "Iznik" tile formed of two parts underglaze painted in cobalt blue, manganese and turquoise with a central lobed oval containing floral spray - largest 8 1/2in (21.5cm) diameter (3) (3)
