London: George Bishop and John Norton, 1610.

Engraved and woodcut illustrations. (Frontispiece cut down and mounted, about 8 maps torn along fold, a similar number slightly soiled, some close cropped, maps of Sussex and Rutland frayed at margin, the latter with slight loss, Middlesex with small hole, B1-4 holed at gutter, Gg3 with internal tears, some marginal tears occasionally extending into text, a few burn holes, final leaf with blank area torn away and laid down.) FIRST ENGLISH EDITION, with maps in the first state. Camden's Latin work was originally published in 1586. Although he contemplated a set of maps as early as 1589, these were not included until the sixth edition of 1607. The same plates were used for the present edition, the one difference being that the maps were printed without text on the verso. The principal sources are Saxton and Norden. No roads are shown. Chubb XIX; Skelton 6; STC 4509.
