A DERUTA ARMORIAL EWER AND BASIN
CIRCA 1640
The ewer with a blue fish handle, the front with a coat of arms within an oval cartouche flanked by ochre sheaves of wheat against a ground of blue foliage and flowers with running hares below, the central arms of the basin within a circular cartouche against a similar ground, within lobed rims (ewer with two chips to footrim, bowl with very slight cracks from footrim)
The ewer 8 7/8 in. (22.5 cm.) high; the basin 14¼ in. (36.2 cm.) wide (at widest point)
