Each with a shaped breche d'alep marble top above a pierced breakfronted frieze with C-scrolls, quatrefoils and diamonds and three pierced aprons raised on scrolled supports headed with cherubim, the bases with applied foliate scrolls on short sabre legs and block feet

Lot Essay

These impressive consoles were supplied for the dining room as part of the celebrated interiors created for the Fifth Avenue apartment of Milton and Carroll Petrie, where David Easton worked on the arhitectural framework, Denning and Fourcade decorated the dining room and bedrooms, and Mark Hampton furnished the library.
