Lot Essay

Accompanied by Rolex Guarantee dated 1 April 1996.

The present reference 16520 is a rare variant of the well-known automatic Daytona, featuring an ivory or cream-coloured dial. It appears that these dials changed colour over the years from the common off-white to the present warm and charismatic butter-tone ivory. Research has resulted in the discovery that only watches made around 1996, thus the "W" series, are subject to such discolouration.
