The present watch, manufactured in 1930, appears to be one of Audemars Piguet's exceedingly rare chronograph wristwatches with the chronograph mechanism operated through the crown. Such single button chronographs are typical for the first years of wrist chronograph production of the 1920s and 1930s, and can be found in either cushion-shaped or round cases. Interestingly, the latter type appears to be rarer in Audemars Piguet's production, since only two circular single button chronographs, one of which being the present one, are illustrated in the main Audemars Piguet reference book.
