Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with raised gold hour markers in 1950 and its subsequent sale on 27 July 1951.

This watch is an unusual variant of reference 2474, fitted with horn-shaped lugs with central facetted hooded lugs as opposed to the straight lugs more commonly found on this model. It is believed to be one of only four examples of this reference known to have appeared in public to date.

Reference 2474J with hooded lugs was launched in 1950 and made in a very small series only.
