The circular white enamel dial with Roman chapters signed 'CRONIER/A PARIS', framed by large scrolling and fruiting oak leaves joined beneath by a floral garland, all surmounted by a flowering basket, on a woven base with leaf and berry frieze, on foliate scrolled feet
15 in. (38 cm.) high, 9 in. (23 cm.) wide, 5 in. (13 cm.) deep

Lot Essay

This clock was probably designed by Antoine Crosnier, who was born in 1732 and worked in Paris on Rue St-Honoré.
