These pot cupboards recall those supplied by James and Mathew Morison of Ayr to Sir David Hunter Blair for Blairquhan in 1820: they were invoiced as '3 Pot Stands £5.2.0' and '2 Pot stands £2.0.0' (sold Christie's House sale, 24 May 2007, lots 164-7).
