Lot Essay

A good example of Paul Henry's later work, The Road to Sea, Connemara was done at a time when his life was more settled than it had been a decade earlier. The fluid brushwork, sense of freshness and evident spontaneity of execution typify the artist's output of the late 1930s.

The present work is listed as number 1222 by Dr Brian Kennedy.
