India, Ceylon and Burma an album containing 41 albumen prints (197 x 270mm et infra) mounted onto album leaves, with five loosely inserted photographs of Ceylon (three signed? 'Scowen' on the reverse) and one panoramic view of the Sphinx and pyramids, Egypt, the Indian subjects including views of the Taj Maha, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, the Purana Qila and Qutb Minar, Delhi, the tomb of the emperor Akbar, Sikandra, Burmese subjects including portraits of Burmese sitters, a Rangoon street scene, Burmese landscapes and studies of Burmese temples and pagodas,three of the Indian photographs signed 'Sache' in the negatives. 4° (320 x 247mm). Contemporary Indian flexible roan gilt, covers with borders of double gilt fillets and fleuron cornerpieces, fitted into a carved wooden binding of a curved spine attached with brass piano hinges to wooden boards, spine and inner and outer faces of boards elaborately carved with dense floral and foliate motifs, gilt edges.
