The pattern for these chairs was published in Gillows Estimate Sketch Book, dated 1827.
Waring and Gillow Ltd continued to source designs from Gillows earlier sketch books as noted by Susan Stuart, A Survey of marks, labels, and stamps used on Gillow and Waring & Gillow furniture 1770 - 1960, Regional Furniture, 1998, vol XXI.
However the fact that two chairs bear the stamp 1827 may be mere coincidence.
