Tasting note: Bottled June-July 2000, 422 cases of 12 bottles or equivalent. Not a very impressive colour, but DRC wines are often misleading and actually gain colour in bottle. Arriving late at Corney & Barrow's tasting, I took advantage of smelling the wine that had been sitting in a large burgundy glass for at least three hours. Fully awakened by the air, it was lovely, whereas freshly poured in my glass it was tighter, harder, spicy and concentrated. On the palate fairly sweet, a full, rich wine with abundant fruit and length. As always, multidimensional. Feb 2001 **** A long haul Wine. M.B
