A chinese gilt bronze figure of a daoist immortal
18th 19th Century
The figure standing on a rectangular four-legged base, the body slightly leaning forward, the head with a protruberant forehead and facial features giving a smiling expression, looking over his right shoulder, holding a three-legged toad in his upturned right palm and in his left hand a large coin, dressed in a loose flowing robe engraved with a cloud-pattern and floral borders, exposed chest with emaciated ribs, bare feet, engraved Chinese inscription on the front of the base Wu jin zhizhao (Made from five metals) and a further inscription on the back Qianlong sannian (Third year of the Qianlong period)
