A Thai Ratnakosin style gilt-wood fragment of Vishnu and Garuda
Late 19th century
Garuda as a semi-bird with wings behind his arms, the head with pointed beak, bulging eyes, lower body as bird with tail and claws, supporting the four-armed Vishnu, both principal hands with unidentified objects, both upper hands holding cakra and sankha, wearing striated sampot, jewellery and a conical crown
