The top inlaid with a geometric design of specimen woods including rosewood, satinwood and bird's-eye maple, incorporating churches and houses, on concave-sided plinth base with inlaid crossed flags to each corner, on turned feet and castors

Lot Essay

The area around Killarney became a popular with tourists in the early 19th century. The 1820s saw the manufacture of furniture and boxes using inlaid woods to depict local tourist attractions, particularly that of Muckross Abbey.
