According to Gorham scholar, Sam Hough, this coffee pot was produced in November 1893 either as a prototype or for special exhibition. This one-of-a-kind object required over 125 hours to chase, at a cost of $180. By comparison, far less time was spent chasing many of the Martele black coffee pots that were produced just a few years later.
