the first dated circa 1850's, unsigned, one mekugiana, temper line not visible; another dated Showa 16th Year (1941), both are set in shinganto mounts, each with hilt in shagreen and standard army cherry blossom menuki and tsuba (2)

Provenance
A document included state that they once belonged to Captain Noboru Handa, Camp Commandant of Japanese Army in Saigon in 1945/6 and was surrendered to Captain H.C. Buckland, RA, Camp Commandant of the 20th Indian Division.
