A Blue and white bowl, underglaze blue Wanli six-character mark and of the period (1573-1619)
with rounded sides and flaring rim, painted to the exterior with stylised hibiscus flowers and scrolling leafy tendrils, the raised foot with ruyi-head border, the interior well decorated in wucai amd gilt enamels with the shuangyu, paired fish Buddhistic symbol -- 5 7/8in. (15cm.) diam, fitted box.
