Compare with a similar smaller pair sold at Christie's, London, 14 April 1980, The Montague Meyer Family Collection of Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, lot 312; another model of the same type sold at Sotheby's, London, 20 June 1961, lot 65; a further example is on display at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow.
