Lot Essay
Omi Daijo Tadahiro (d.1673 aged 80 years) is the signature of the son of Tadayoshi I of Hizen, and second generation of the school. Following his fathers death in 1632, when he was 19, he assumed the name Tadahiro, and was granted the title Omi Daijo in 1641. The style of the signature suggests that this blade was made when he was of advanced age. Mitsutoshi (d.1863) was the son of Kikuoka Mitsumasa.
