Momoyama-Edo Period (16th-19th century)
An otafukumokkogata iron tsuba pierced with a thatched roof, small pond and stepping stones and inlaid in shakudo takazogan with bats, gilt details, signed Choshu Nakai saku, 7.1cm; a broad oval iron tsuba, the loosely forged plate inlaid in iron and iroe takazogan with a sennin in Kaneie style, 8.3cm; an oval iron tsuba, the tsuchimeji plate inlaid with cartwheels in shakudo and gilt, 7.8cm; an oval iron tsuba depicting two Chinese generals by a stream in iroe takazogan, Nara school, 7.9cm; a rounded square tsuchimeji tsuba pierced with a hatchet and wachigai, signed Nobuie, 8.3cm; a rounded square tsuba chiselled with leaves and fruit, signed Kashu Kinjo (Kanazawa) ju Yoshi Suzuki Yoshiyuki, 8.1cm; an Aizu Kinko tsuba inlaid in low relief with a hut and trees, signed Masayoshi saku, 8cm; a round tsuba, pierced with the Musashi no design signed Tadatoki saku, Akasaka school, 6.8cm; an oval tsuba, pierced with an ebi, signed Echizen ju Akao, 7.7cm; a mokkogata tsuba with a gilt shishi, 7.8cm; and seventeen others, various sizes (27)
