AN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN CORE-FORMED GLASS AMPHORISKOS
CIRCA LATE 6TH-5TH CENTURY B.C.
Cobalt blue in color, the ovoid body with rounded shoulders, a cylindrical neck and inward-sloping rim, with applied opaque yellow and turquoise marvered threads wound spirally and tooled into a zigzag pattern, vertical striations from the tooling, with applied yellow and turquoise bands below, applied yellow on the rim and base-knob, and twin cobalt blue vertical handles
