A CYCLADIC MARBLE RECLINING FEMALE FIGURE
EARLY SPEDOS VARIETY, CIRCA 2600-2500 B.C.
Sculpted with a lyre-shaped head, a slender nose, and an elongated neck, the shoulders sloping down, with small breasts, the arms folded right below left, the inguinal lines of the incised pubic triangle bisected by the upper end of the deep cleft that separates the legs, the knees slightly bent, with incised creases behind the knees and around the ankles, the spine delineated by a shallow groove, the feet originally angled down
