Rectangular in form, with the deceased sculpted in raised relief in a recessed central panel, depicted mounted on a horse, clad in a chiton, a mantle draped over his left shoulder, his right hand raised, his fingers extended forward along the horse's mane, the reins in his left hand, identified by a Greek inscription above, LYSON ARISTONONOS, "Lyson son of Ariston," the stele crowned with anthemion of volutes rising from a bed of acanthus leaves, a palmette above, with flanking rosettes
