AN INDIAN TULWAR WITH GOLD KOFTGARI HILT
19TH CENTURY
With finely watered curved blade double-edged towards the point, two brief inscriptions enclosed by gold koftgari cartouches on one face and a decorative koftgari panel on the other, iron hilt decorated over its entire surface with further koftgari panels, including patterns of scrolling flowers over the grip, and preserved in fine condition, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard (chipped).
