AN INDIAN KATAR; AND AN INDIAN SHIRT, LEGGINGS AND HOOD ALL OF MAIL
The first late 17th Century; the remainder 18th/19th Century
The katar with triangular blade cut with diverging broad fullers divided by a raised incised rib on both sides, iron hilt of characteristic form damascened with gold scrolls and flowers, incorporating a pair of birds chiselled between the bars of the grip, and in fabric-covered wooden scabbard; the shirt, leggings and hood of rivetted iron rings (the hood associated, some losses and replacements).
