A DUTCH SILVER-MOUNTED HUNTING SWORD
LATE 17TH /EARLY 18TH CENTURY
With plain slightly curved blade, vertically recurved quillons cast in low relief, the tips formed as classical warriors' head medallions, ivory grip carved in the form of a frieze of three female allegorical figures, rising to a pommel carved as a mounted male figure in contemporary dress, fitted with silver basal collar, and in its original silver-mounted leather scabbard, the locket with suspension stud cast with a classical mask.
