A FULL ARMOUR IN THE GERMAN STYLE OF CIRCA 1560
EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Of bright steel, comprising close helmet drawn-up to a roped comb, fitted with slotted visor and upper-bevor, the base of the skull and the lower-bevor each flanged for turning on the gorget, gorget of three plates front and rear, breast-plate formed with a strong medial ridge coming to a blunt point towards the base, fitted with arm gussets, skirt of three lames, a pair of tassets each of five lames, fluted lance-rest, and with bold roped flanged turns at the neck and arms, matching back-plate with skirt, a pair of full arm defences including correctly asymmetrical spaulders fitted with asymmetrical haute-pieces, a pair of gauntlets (most of the finger lames missing), a pair of full leg defences including cuisses of two-part construction, well formed sabatons, and with matching recessed borders and turned roped edges throughout (sold without a stand).
