The first with 36in sighted barrel, regulation lock with linear borders and engraved 'Tower' and 'GR' crowned, moulded wooden full stock, the butt inset with decorative brass discs, and brass regulation mounts, the butt-plate inscribed '27 Regt' (one ramrod-pipe and the ramrod each replaced); the second with Remington lock dated 1865 and the stock with inspector's stamps (the breech and lock pitted).
