A SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK FOWLING-PIECE WITH SPANISH BARREL AND LOCK

With swamped sighted barrel, the breech inlaid with a series of silver decorative marks enclosing the maker's stamps of J. Pedro Esteva (Neue Støckel 7368/9), gold-lined vent, engraved lock with large safety-catch (maker's stamp corroded), later full stock scorched in imitation of maple, full Continental silver mounts cast in low relief, the trigger-guard engraved en suite with the lock, and horn-tipped wooden ramrod (the barrel and lock heavily rust patinated, the top jaw replaced).
