With two-stage barrel cut with two linear girdles and stamped with the letter 'B' over the octagonal breech, plain lock with bevelled edges, retained by three side-nails and fitted with broad-breasted ring-neck cock (the steel refaced within its early working life), moulded walnut full stock (repairs, the fore-end replaced), plain brass spurred pommel and trigger-guard with moulded finial, later iron ramrod, and no provision for side-plate (barrel band associated, ramrod-pipes replaced).
