TASSO, Torquato (1544-95). La Gerusalemme Liberata. Venice: Giambattista Albrizzi, 1745. 2° (438 x 310mm). Half title, engraved allegorical frontispiece, title printed in red and black, illustration on title, portrait of Maria Teresa, and 21 plates by Giambattista Piazzetta, vignettes, one full-page, culs-de-lampes (frontispiece torn from gutter, first few leaves including title and portrait detached, a few leaves lightly spotted, some light staining). Later vellum decorated in gilt (upper inner hinges broken, joints split). Provenance: Severo Cappellini (bookplate); 'Frederick Harrison (from the Harley family sent to Bedford Row 1840). Presented to me by Sidney Harrison 1909' (inscription on front free endpaper); 'FH' (monogram).
