ARGUMENTS OVER PROTOCOL for the opening of a (presumably Hungarian) Landtag: Maria Theresa writes insistently, recurring frequently to the same point, that six points in the protocol for the ceremony are to be removed: 'Folgt hier des palatini brieff der nichts in meinen resolutionen ändert. mich verwundert das canzler ein zweyffel bleibt über meine resolution die khlar ist, das die 6 puncten wort vor wort ... sollen articulirt werden, es mögten nachgehends alle, oder einige davon oder keine davon in article gesezt werden, ist mir eines, will aber keine representation mehr darüber vernehmen ... [es] ligt mir und dem land nichts daran dise kindereyen als article zu haben, just so gutt sein wird keine article als dise zu haben'. She concludes with the sentiment that such ostentation is pointless for a Landtag: 'wegen ceremoniel ist nicht der mühe werth vor ein solchen landtag vill ostentation zy mach je stiller je schlechter je convenabler'.
