HOPEFULLY THEY TALK OF ME IN ENGLAND. Schopenhauer asks after a recent English volume, Modern German Philosophy, which three booksellers have told him is unavailable, although Artaria say it is only so in England. He asks if Asher knows something of it and wonders if there is some discussion of himself in it: 'Hoffentlich ist von mir darin die Rede: jedenfalls bezeugt es den Antheil, den man in Engl[an]d an Deutscher Phil[osophie] nimmt'.

Published in the Gebhardt/Hübscher edition, no.664 (part). The philosophical writer David Asher was one of Schopenhauer's most enthusiastic partisans.
