"At first, there were the barest hints of lactic acid on the nose but with 15 minutes of air, this blew off to be replaced by a wonderfully expressive amalgam of spice, earth, clove and maturing fruit that introduces ripe but elegant middle weight flavors of obvious class and breed. There is good punch and power but this is essentially a wine of finesse and elegance that just happens to possess enough muscle to prove that it's a grand cru. In short, this is really lovely juice that is drinking perfectly now and should continue to hold if stored well - I like it because it's a '90 with balance and grace with none of the over-the-top ripeness."
