Montrachet--Vintage 2001
Côte de Beaune, Bouchard Père et Fils
In original wooden case
"Sumptuously ripe aromas of peach and apricot with a hint of toasty oak and smoke lead to full-bodied, sappy, muscular, massively scaled flavors that are breathtakingly rich and quite densely concentrated, especially on the impressively long finish and this stains and coats the palate completely. Despite all of the size, this remains impeccably balanced and as good as the La Cabotte is, the Montrachet delivers that extra dimension to surpass it by a nose, if you'll forgive the pun. Seriously beautiful juice and a great success for the vintage." BH, July 1, 2003
